Report: Global economic wars not to hurt Russia severely – Putin
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, Jul 13 (PRIME) -- The ongoing confrontation on the global economic arena in the form of sanctions and restrictions that different countries impose on each other will have an impact on Russia, but insignificant, President Vladimir Putin said in an interview to Rossiya 1 television channel broadcast on July 12.
Global economic confrontation will continue, as “it is connected to the unwillingness of some countries to make peace with the fact that effective global competitors are rising or have already risen,” he said referring to the U.S.
“And different restrictions, be it tariff restrictions, financial limitations, technological barriers of just dumb slapping of sanctions, it will continue one way or another to restrict development of possible competitors for the countries that consider themselves global leaders and want to keep it that way. This confrontation, this fight will definitely go on. It will have an impact on us, but I am sure that it will not be a significant impact,” Putin said.
“Why is that so? Because we have a huge potential for internal growth. And I am sure that we will solve this task.”
Each country has the right to choose its own way of development, and it is wrong to force uniform stereotypes on them that are beneficial to other countries, he added.
